Tucked away on the Central Coast of California, the Santa Ynez Valley is approximately 2.5 hours north of Los Angeles, 

45 min north of Santa Barbara, and 4.5 hours south of San Francisco. 

Apart from being where Ella grew up, the Santa Ynez Valley offers a unique combination of towns. 

You'll find wine country chic in Los Olivos,  California Rancheros in Santa Ynez,  pastries and "olde worlde" charm in Solvang (the Danish capital of California),  and all-American fare in Buellton: a natural place to have a trans-Atlantic wedding. 

While California boasts excellent weather, scenery, and salads... it falls short on public transport. 

Renting a car is the only way to get around.
